As FIFA’s official payment services provider, Visa took the opportunity surrounding the 2018 FIFA World Cup™ to connect with some of football’s most passionate fans through the universal language of FOMO.
160over90 teased the return of football icon Zlatan Ibrahimović in a campaign that brought him back to the World Cup thanks to the ease of Visa.
We helped the brand tap global spokesperson and football icon Zlatan Ibrahimović to be the face of a campaign showing audiences everywhere that with Visa, no football fan needed to miss a moment of the iconic quadrennial event.
Together, Visa and Zlatan launched a series of online films and 30-second spots showing the larger-than-life figure tapping to pay throughout the tournament, demonstrating the ease and access Visa provides. Throughout the tournament, Zlatan was joined by a roster of supporting global influencers, from Germany’s freekickerz to Japan’s Kotaro Tokuda, and tournament venues were outfitted with contactless point-of-sale terminals (where non-Visa cardholders were also saved from FOMO, receiving payment wearables and rings so they could take part in the experience).
The campaign culminated in Moscow where Zlatan shared with his 31 Million followers how to defeat FIFA World Cup™ FOMO through the use of Visa’s fast and easy payment innovations and exclusive access.
