Michael Ryan Architects, a full-service architecture and design firm rooted in the modernist aesthetic, knew better than anyone that it was time to refresh the brand.

Situation

MRA wanted a marketing system that accurately reflected its quality of design, while broadening the range of clients and projects.

Solution

The brand we developed demonstrates the MRA philosophy: When you let go of all preconceived notions of what a house or structure can be, you allow for the wonderfully unexpected to occur. We created a suite of branded materials for the firm that would work in all aspects of the sale cycle, from first touch with a client to close. This included the design and development of a new website, in which we were able to balance this playfully irreverent message with the firm’s clean, modern design sensibility. The crowning achievement was the design and publication of a 244-page monograph that redefined what a monograph could look and feel like, while chronicling nearly a quarter-century of the firm’s work.

Results

Since the launch of the new brand, MRA has shortened its sales cycle by 35%, increased conversion of leads by 200%, added three new project type categories, and closed fourteen new commissions in year one. The work has been recognized by Graphis with a Gold Award, and the monograph was immediately picked up for publication, available for sale in high-end bookstores around the world.
