Fairfield University — a small Jesuit liberal arts university in southern Connecticut — lacked a brand that clearly defined what made the institution distinctive in its own right.
Fairfield was caught in the middle. Competition for quality applicants was increasing among schools in the Northeast with slightly higher rankings, as well as among schools with lower rankings and lower tuition. Fairfield had yet to identify and communicate what distinguished it from other small Jesuit liberal arts institutions.
We created a brand that shows how a mix of small size, secluded setting and Jesuit philosophy fosters an intense level of commitment that permeates all aspects of the university. And it develops a level of commitment that penetrates deep into the core of each and every individual. When you become a Stag, you become part of a herd that runs deep. The learning goes deeper, the bonds formed are stronger, and the moments last a lifetime. Framing devices help isolate and intensify moments that might otherwise seem ordinary, and a refined, elegant color palate and design reflect a premium New England fashion brand.
With the launch of a new website, search piece, viewbook and admission video all in its first year, Fairfield is experiencing a significant increase in both the amount and quality of inquiries and applications. The brand has been fully embraced and adopted throughout campus, further uniting and galvanizing the students, faculty, administration, alumni and the larger community.
