Two-hundred years ago (give or take), Thomas Jefferson had a vision for a university; an institution built on ingenuity, designed to serve the common good, and dedicated to educating citizens. That institution—now known as University of Virginia—is doing just that, and a whole bunch more. Things like developing a strategy for destroying cancer, transforming our nation’s schools, creating safer hospitals, cleaner water, and renewable-er energy. And we wanted to work with UVA to share these accomplishments, advancements, and innovations with the world.
Enter: Illimitable, a high-end, biannual magazine for University of Virginia peers, donors, and stakeholders, with a goal of putting a face, name, and story to every achievement and every triumph UVA has made and continues to make, as one academic community. These pursuits push this community to solve, create, and challenge—endlessly. In other words, illimitably. Oh hey, that’s where the name came from.
Illimitable takes the time to thoroughly feature the hardworking students, faculty, staff, and leadership that make up the UVA family. With a thoughtfully designed, long-form expression of the brand, Illimitable builds on UVA’s ever-growing narrative of success and their endless pursuit of better.
And we think if Jefferson could see UVA today, he’d be damn proud. And probably mildly terrified of electricity.
